Computing Quality Framework (CQF) Information Event

Know what the new Computing Quality Framework is and how it can benefit your organisation. The National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) Computing Quality Framework is intended to help schools review their progress in developing the computing curriculum. Ideal for heads, executive heads, trust CEOs, all senior leaders, governors, trustees and subject leads. Directors of improvement, those with responsibility for technology in education. The framework takes you through each aspect of computing, helping you to access the NCCE’s wide range of resources, report, and progress. The development of the framework was funded by the DfE. When you are able to show good practice, you can apply for the nationally recognised NCCE Computing Mark, awarded by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

Higher Attainment in Computer Science – Meeting the Challenges of the Exams (Remote)

This evidence-based CPD aims to raise knowledge amongst teachers of how to achieve the most out of your students, whilst preparing for their GCSE exams in computer science. Whether you’re already teaching computer science or completely new to the subject, this course is designed to support your understanding of how to increase student attainment at GCSE level.Within this course you’ll receive insights into accurate assessment to aid centre assessed grading, explore the key terminology used in exams and how this should be approached by students. Explore structured methods of teaching towards extended writing and programming exam questions, plus top tips from experienced teachers of how to pick up marks in exam papers.You’ll also discover the importance and research behind retrieval and interleaved learning.
